Yacht racing returned off Hillarys on Sunday after a few weeks halt due to high winds.

Mar Pitt’s Mulberry, with elite helmsman Neil Harrison as guest skipper, spent a day in the North Coast Series between Hillarys Yacht Club and Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club, recording fastest times in both races and a first and second place finish in Division 1.

Bad Habits (Ian Holder) also from HYC was not far behind with second and third place while Sophia (Bruce Utting) won Race 2.

Whim A Way (Scott Forrest) was the best for Ocean Reef with third and fourth place.

It was a close race in Division 2 with the top three boats in both races just seconds apart on the handicap.

Farrouk (Des and Gail Riley) sailed extremely well for first and fastest in the opening race while Blue Chip (Keith and Deboarah Fisk) won second.

Volant (Emille Janseen, John Ball, Keith Meta, Frank Hagemann) placed second and third and Show Me (Tim Tucker) moved from fourth to second.

Panache (Geoff James) valiantly carried the flag for Ocean Reef but was well back in the fleet.

In Division 3, light air specialist Rob Bills on Catabatic was first and fastest while Intuition (Marc Carpenter) and Tosca (Stuart Marks and Leigh Collins) traded places for second and third in both races.
