You can bet your bottom dollar that David Bowie’s former superyacht comes with a few splashes of color.

Nautical neutrals are out and hot pink is on trend if you’re the Ziggy Stardust of the high seas, or at least channel the pop star, because the ship is currently up for grabs.

Fraser Yachts lists the beauty for $5 million (around R80 million).

At 39 meters long, every corner of the Benetti yacht exudes the late pop-rock star’s impeccable taste, striking a delicious balance between classic Italian style and the kind of glitz and glamor the legendary musician was known for:

Moving on to the Robb report:

Built by Benetti in 1977, the ship was christened Deneb Star by Bowie but now bears the name El Caran. Sporting a sleek steel displacement hull and classic Benetti silhouette, the vessel underwent a meticulous refit in 2020 which saw new paint and a new teak deck installed.

As for the bright interior, revamped by Simona Lamboglia Architecture and Interior Design, there are pop art references and bright pink accents galore:

The layout allows for six generous cabins that can collectively accommodate up to 12 sailors, as well as five crew cabins that can accommodate seven crew members.

The outdoor areas are also spacious, with space for alfresco dining and more than enough deckchairs and lounges to relax along the “stern of the canoe”:

It’s a popular boat, you know:

The superyacht, which is maintained in commercial class RINA, has been offered for charter in the Mediterranean for many summers and has attracted many loyal customers.

Take it from Bowie, “I don’t know where I’m going with this, but I promise it won’t be boring.”
