The Coffs Harbor Triathlon Club is organizing its second event of the season, the “Try a Tri”, on Sunday November 7, 2021 at Jetty Beach.

The event gives athletes the opportunity to participate in one of two formats.

The shortest format is 350m swim, 10km bike and 2.5km run while the longest sprint distance format is 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run .

Each event is organized with volunteers ensuring the safety and direction of the athletes, especially during the swimming and cycling stages.

Race director Mark Garner said they will also be offering a buddy system to help these people move confidently around the course and to help them with all the tips and tricks of the day.

“The event has been set up to give people who want to try their hand at triathlon for the first time or people who are returning to the sport or who are new to the area the opportunity to blow off the cobwebs.

“For those who wish to participate and who wish to have more information about the event, the Tri Club organized an information session on Saturday November 6 between 3 pm and 5 pm, at the bottom of the Yacht Club.

“Existing members will be on hand Saturday to answer any questions people might have and to go through course details before hitting the sands on Sunday morning.

“People can also follow the club on Facebook, subscribe to our newsletter or go to our website (www.coffstri.com) to find out more, become a member and stay up to date with what’s happening throughout the season, ”said Mark.
