Participants undergo training for boat captain’s license – FBC News

A total of 70 young participants graduated from the mobile skills training for the boat captain license.

The two-week training was facilitated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in partnership with the Fiji Maritime Safety Authority.

Youth and Sports Minister Parveen Kumar said those working in the maritime environment depend on proper training and certification.

Kumar encouraged all boat captains to follow maritime and safety laws because people depend on them.

He adds that as captains, they are responsible for the lives of passengers and must ensure their safety at all times.

Training participants completed two modules on Boat Captains and Class 6-Nautical Captain/Engineer Restricted Knowledge.
