The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection has dominated the NFT market since its launch in April 2021spawning multiple copies and redefining the genre.

Several top celebrity owners, including Steph Curry, Neymar and DJ Khaled, have helped cement his status as the ultimate flex. And with a current floor price of 93.99 ETH ($169,000), there is no doubt that BAYC NFTs are proprietary.

However, changes in volume rankings indicate that BAYC’s crown is slipping.

The GODA Mint Pass is number one on OpenSea

Analysis of OpenSea Ethereum NFTs shows that the GODA Mint Pass collection is number one in volume. Its current volume is almost double that of BAYC and its floor price is 6.97 ETH ($12,500).

GODA Mint Pass NFTs are described as identical renewable black cards. They offer future access to a curated collection of works by traditional artists, for the first time embarking on digital art.

Essentially, this represents a shot in the dark, in terms of what the token holder will end up getting. An NFT mystery box if you will.

The NFT “We Are All Going To Die” (WAGDIE) Collection Takes Flight

As reported by the cultural magazine Vice, the WAGDIE collection was the first Ethereum NFT collection in volume on June 8th.

However, just a day later he fell two places, with BAYC managing to propel him to second place. However, in less than a week, since its launch on June 3, WAGDIE achieved a volume of 9,500 ETH ($17 million) and established a floor price of 1,239 ETH ($2,200).

The WAGDIE NFT collection includes 6,666 tokens that feature “pixelated solemn humanoids”, but some would describe them as alien or demonic characters, wearing medieval-themed clothing.

“…tthe hat features solemn pixelated humanoids clad in fantastical medieval gear ranging from magical death masks to metal swords, robes, wings, crossbows, chainmail, plate armour, crowns and helms.”

Rather than shy away from its lack of a website or roadmap, the WAGDIE team proudly claims this fact, in gothic script, on its Twitter.

Also, his message that “there is only death” further indicates what this project is all about. And to spell it, it’s a world apart from the concept of fun-loving monkeys.

“No website. Twitter and contract only. Free mint. CC0.

There is no map, only death.

WAGDIE.
