Tuesday is Trail Skywalk training day
The catwalk will remain open during the training scheduled to go from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you see a team of emergency responders rappelling down from the Skywalk on Tuesday, and maybe a lifeboat or two moving through the dark water below, don’t worry.
This is a planned training exercise for the Kootenay Boundary firefighters, which will take place at the Footpath Pedestrian Bridge on October 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“They will also perform training scenarios from the embankments near the southeast side of the bridge,†advises the town of Trail. “There will be no impact on pedestrians because the footbridge will remain open. “
Fire trucks will be stationed near the east side of the bridge, in front of Chateau Manor.
