Training Ship Springs Holds Annual Recruitment Day

The Springs Training Ship Sea Cadets will hold their annual recruiting day on January 29 at Springs Catholic Church Hall on Derby Avenue, Springs Extension from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
TS Springs offers activities such as seamanship, sailing, rowing, catering, engineering, communications, and first aid to teens and teens of all races, languages, and cultures.
Making new friends and having serious fun while putting their free time to good use, Sea Cadets learn about the different cultures of South Africa and become leaders among their peers.
By joining the South African Sea Cadets, they discover the eight sought-after ideals, namely honesty, loyalty, morality, discipline, leadership, teamwork, respect and integrity.

Entry requirements
Boys and girls of all races, languages ​​and cultures aged 12-15 (grades 7-9) able to speak and understand English, able to afford and commit to monthly subscriptions of R130 and willing to commit to weekly attendance whenever possible.
You must bring a copy of your birth certificate, casual clothing (like jeans and a t-shirt), parent/guardian contact information (name, cell phone number, email address) and a black pen.
Covid-19 rules apply. No mask, no entry.
Parents are invited to join their children for the morning and watch the demonstrations and selection process, ask questions and get excited about the Sea Cadets as well. Refreshments and snacks will be available at the tuck shop at nominal prices.
