Buccaneers training camp has now become a family affair for Tom Brady. As the 44-year-old quarterback enters his second season with Tampa Bay, his 13-year-old son Jack has been with the club as a ball collector during practice.

“It’s awesome,” Brady said Wednesday of his son’s presence at camp. “He’s at a good age. The more I do with him the better. We have a great time together and it’s really a treat for me to have him. He thinks it’s fun but it’s probably much better for me to have it here. It’s really, really cool. “

He added, “He’s just a great kid. I don’t want to blow his head too much. He probably wouldn’t even read this. Just a really special kid. It’s fun to be with him. He’s good with everything, you know, let’s run, get on the boat, go golf, ride a bike and he’s pretty cool with everything. “

Similar to his father, Jack appears to be impressing the Buccaneers when he arrives with head coach Bruce Arians saying “there is no doubt” that he is a piece of the old block for his father.

“He did a hell of a job,” Arians said. “He knows how to get them back. He’s the recovery coach right now and he’s doing a hell of a job.”

When told of Arians’ test report on his son, Brady said, “He listens pretty well. I have to keep him hydrated there though. I try to make sure he is still drinking. It’s so hot in here and losing you a lot and he doesn’t think much, he’s just running around. But he comes home and he’s devastated. Trying to keep his fluids in him. [He] probably hears a lot of words he usually doesn’t hear in his school, but it’s on a football field. “

Tampa Bay is currently doing joint practice with the Tennessee Titans ahead of their preseason game on Saturday.
