CL Club Rush inviting clubs to participate

Many Canyon Lake clubs will be at their booths from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Holiday Harbor on June 4 to inform Canyon Lakers of their club benefits and to register attendees. In addition to club booths, others will be on hand to have fun and introduce Canyon Lakers to their businesses.

Each club will have a booth, staffed by its members, where questions can be asked and new members can sign up. Companies will be on site with their booths to introduce themselves to the community as well.

Club Rush, hosted by the Canyon Lake Family Matters Club, is a great way to see what’s going on in the community and make new friends with like interests.

Each club will have a club ribbon that visitors can add to their badges, said Shawna Bowen, founder of the Family Matters Club. Club Rush participants will also have the opportunity to win a Grand Prize Basket.

All attendees will receive a Club Rush Passport to take to all booths. Each booth will stamp the passport, and once the passport is filled with the required number of stamps, the completed Club Rush passport will be placed in a bucket with other completed passports and a winner will be drawn.

Booths will have something fun to do, from games to crafts. There will be a free fun zone for children with games as well as a stand where children can have their face painted. The snack bar will also be open to purchase snacks such as nachos, hot dogs and other treats.

Throughout the event, clubs and businesses will have the opportunity to register as a team to compete against other teams for prizes and trophies. A Decorated Booth Contest will be held, which was last won by the Canyon Lake Yacht Club.

Competitions such as Foot Pool and Human Horse Racing are held for the enjoyment of the event participants. Foot Pool is played much like billiards, but the balls are hit on the grass instead of being hit with cues on a table.

Clubs can register for Club Rush events to compete for trophies in both games.

Canyon Lake clubs are always asked to participate. So far, the following Canyon Lake clubs have signed up: Boy Scouts, Canyon Lake Car Club, Canyon Lake Chair Volleyball, Canyon Lake Association of Men (CLAMS), Cub Scouts, Canyon Lake Equestrian Club, Canyon Lake Family Matters Club, Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild, Canyon Lake Community Gardeners, Canyon Lake Junior Women’s Club, Canyon Lake Pickleball Club, Veterans and First Responders, Canyon Lake Woman’s Club, and Canyon Lake POA.

Those from non-participating clubs should sign up and sing their club’s praises to community members in attendance. Each participating club or business will be allowed to set up a booth where they can hang banners, show photo albums, awards and answer any questions people may have about club membership or anything the company offers, including items sold that day. .

“We can’t wait for everyone to come out and see that it’s the clubs that make Canyon Lake so great,” Shawna said. “The main point is a fun afternoon that brings many new members and potential customers to visit each club booth.”
