The RANGERS B team picked up three points after a 6-3 win over the Cumbernauld Colts at Broadwood Stadium this afternoon.

Six goals from Charlie McCann, Connor Young, Charlie Lindsay, Zak Lovelace, Charlie Lindsay, Lewis MacKinnon and Arron Lyall gave the Light Blues another big win and three points in the league campaign.

Robbie Fraser, Connor Allan, Lewis MacKinnon and Jack Harkness were the defensive defense with Lewis Budinauckas behind them in goal.

Charlie Lindsay was joined in midfield by Mackenzie Strachan and Charlie McCann, with Connor Young and Ross McCausland supporting Robbie Ure up front.

Following this, the Gers began to pressure the Colts backline again and young Lovelace was on hand to provide a dangerous threat. After collecting the ball in the home side’s half, he danced past a number of yellow shirts to force his way into the box.

He picked out a running Lindsay who broke into the final third who calmly brushed his effort past Adamson with a first contact shot to give his side a commanding lead as they headed into halftime.

As the team returned for the second half, Rangers continued to carry that final third threat towards the Cumbernauld Colts goal with Lindsay delivering a fantastic corner into the box. MacKinnon managed to connect with his effort at the back post and headed the ball directly past the keeper to give his team a four goal advantage.

Innes’ side started to find some rhythm and worked their way past the baseline to send a dangerous delivery to an unmarked Regan McLaren in the box. He made it to the cross, but his effort drifted off the crossbar.

The home side kept up that attacking threat against the Rangers back line and managed to pull another goal back after McLaren came around the corner to put a shot past Budinauckas.

Less than ten minutes before the end of the game, Lyall scored his team’s sixth and final goal after winning the ball in the Colts’ half. The youngster managed to force his way past several defenders to break into the box and sent a rhythmic effort into the bottom right corner of the net.

In the 90th minute, McLaren managed to score the third for his side after collecting the ball in the Rangers box and sending a weak effort past Budinauckas in goal to finish the final score 6-3.
