Genoa International Boat Show: what to expect

On September 14, the press conference dedicated to the presentation of the 62nd Genoa International Boat Show, organized by the Italian Maritime Industry Association and its subsidiary I Saloni Nautici and scheduled for September 22-27, was held at Palazzo della Meridiana in the heart of the city hosting the Boat Show. Building on the experience of the two editions of 2020 and 2021, in stark contrast to the rest of Europe, the 62nd edition is already showing exceptional figures. “There are more than 1,000 boats present, 998 brands on display, bringing 168 world firsts,” commented Italian Maritime Industry Association President Saverio Cecchi. “The Genoa Boat Show is in constant growth, this year the exhibition spaces on the water have increased by 5.2% while the new spaces on the Levante seafront are already under construction, which will guarantee growth unwavering for the next 10 years.” According to Carlo Maria Ferro, president of the Italian trade agency, the fair focuses on the internationalization of companies. “This will be made possible by the participation of 145 foreign buyers from 19 countries and the space entirely dedicated to 10 start-ups at the forefront of sustainable innovation, a component at the service of companies and their development”, specifies Carlo Maria Ferro. “The administration of Liguria will obviously be present at the Boat Show with its stand, dedicated to the Liguria 77 promotional campaign, which focuses on the record of Blue Flags achieved again this year by Liguria and, in particular, on the stopovers and ports across the region that has won such prestigious recognition.Finally, we will also be able to enjoy a full program of events and exhibitions parallel to the event, fireworks in Piazza De Ferrari during from the opening ceremony to the “Genoa, galley of the seas” event that will expand the Genoa Boat Show, bringing it to and throughout the city”, explained Giovanni Toti, president of the Liguria Region. “With the position of undeniable authority acquired in 2020, the year in which we were the only event in Europe able to organize a show, and the global leadership of the Italian industry”, commented the CEO of I Saloni Nautici, Carla Demaria. ” Our ambition that do are to be the builders to govern the future.
