Sheesh, we’re so happy for old Jeff Bezos.

When you invest $ 500 million in a new toy (representing around 1 / 400th of your total net worth), you only deserve the best superyacht you can buy.

The yacht is so far past project Y721, with bits and pieces of information becoming public over the months.

We know this is a 127 meter long superyacht with three massive masts, we know Oceanco builds it, and we know this will be the largest sailboat ever built in the Netherlands.

Now, via Boat International, we have our first glimpse of this behemoth:

[It] was seen for the first time after the deployment of the hangars of the Zwijndrecht shipyard…

The first images of the yacht show a black hull and classic exterior lines. We also know that the project will be a three-masted schooner and will include a bowsprit …

Oceanco is no stranger to record-breaking superyachts. The shipyard delivered the 106.7 meter Black Pearl in 2018, which remains the largest DynaRig sailboat in the world, featuring three 70 meter high carbon masts.

There’s even a video from Y721 to enjoy:

When you’re Bezos rich, one thing you don’t really want is to be on your superyacht and still be surrounded by mere mortals.

That won’t be a problem, Auto Evolution reports:

Along with Y721, Bezos will also take delivery of a ghost yacht, which will be a customized version of Damen Yachts model YS 7512.

It will carry crew and staff, provide additional meeting and entertainment space, and house all of the billionaire’s toys, including a helicopter.

You can’t put a helipad on a sailing yacht so, you see, a ghost ship was a necessity.

Naturally. Imagine the shame of passing Monaco or Antibes and not having a heliport?

The record-breaking yacht will make its official debut in 2022, although an exact date has not been set.

No doubt Elon Musk will find a way to poke fun at Bezos for all of this.

Sorry, but now it’s company policy (okay, just me) to end Bezos’ stories with this NSFW song:
