Countdown to Cannes Yachting Festival 2022: Sanlorenzo SP110

Moored at the back of the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022 quay, the new Sanlorenzo SP110 will be talked about.

The lower saloon, which descends from the cockpit, was clearly inspired by Sanlorenzo’s Bluegame sub-brand. But it takes this concept to the next level, literally, by opening up the aft end of the main deck to create an eye-catching two-story atrium that shows anyone who might look inside – that is, to everyone – that your boat is cooler than theirs.

It’s also faster, probably: the Sanlorenzo SP110 is a 40-knot boat, thanks to three MAN V12s, jet engines and a light structure that contains a lot of carbon fibre.

Long, low, wide in the beam and open at the stern, it looks suspiciously like an overgrown dinghy, but in a good way. She was designed by Zuccon to a hull design by Marco Arnaboldi, with interior decor by Piero Lissoni.

The main deck offers elevated views aft and to the sides from her formal seating and dining areas, with an enclosed galley and separate wheelhouse forward.

A companionway to port leads to the residual auxiliary helm station and rooftop sunbathing area, while the lower deck is reached aft – be sure to wave to the crowded dock as you descend – and through this saloon inferior.

Here we find four good-sized en-suite cabins from a central hallway, while the forward three-cabin crew accommodation is accessed via a curved companionway in the wheelhouse.

If you want to sit somewhere private – and there will surely come a time – your best bet is the sunbathing area on the foredeck.

A Williams jet tender sits inside this wide, low transom, with its own clever, concealed cantilever crane, and a flap folds down to create a swim platform.
