Pershing continues to breathe new life into its silver bullet line (other colors are available) and the new Pershing 6X picks up perfectly where the 62 left off.

The biggest and least noticeable change is in the powertrain, where a pair of fire-breathing 1550 V12s from MAN replace the old V10 MTU options, and Top System’s Italian-made 75S surface drives replace the ZF units from the 62. .

Taken together, the 24-liter MANs represent a weight gain of over 800kg over the 22-liter MTUs, which arguably helped offset all the extra kit that newer models inevitably accumulate.

With a little more power, Pershing claims a top speed of 48 knots at one-third load for the new Pershing 6X. During our sea trial of the old Pershing 62, we managed to reach 45.7 knots.

In addition to its larger and redesigned hull windows, the latest model also has new bodywork molding, resulting in a more streamlined profile, and a variety of other refinements, including a helm station with two 19-inch screens. , a new cockpit table in a cool combination of carbon fiber and teak, a redesigned and much more comfortable aft sundeck and a lounge chair with a reclining backrest in the saloon.

The interior design will be familiar to Pershing fans: calm and understated, with a real depth of luxury in Mastrotto and Poltrona Frau leathers.

Two layout options are available downstairs, both of which place the galley at the foot of the companionway to port.

The three cabin version features the owner’s bathroom amidships, a VIP bathroom up front and a double berth guest cabin to starboard with daytime head access.

For the American market, the third cabin is replaced by a square below in front of the galley.
