As life slowly returns to a new normal, several boat shows across America are reopening throughout 2022, ready to put on impressive exhibits to welcome the crowds once again. Renowned for its strong yachting culture, which sees thousands of yachts in its waters each year, America has become a hotspot for many yacht owners; attracted by the offerings of American shipyards as well as the adventurous yachting lifestyle that the United States presents. As one of the largest markets for superyacht sales, major boat shows across the United States are often frequented by many well-known shipyards, designers and brokers, providing desirable events for any superyacht owner or yacht enthusiast. yachting.


Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show – February 16-20


Last week hosted the first boat show on the US boating calendar. This year, the Miami International Boat Show (MIBS) and the Miami Yacht Show have united to become the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show (DBMIBS), creating one of the largest boat shows in the world. Attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, event organizers estimate the show generated a combined annual impact of $1.34 billion on South Florida’s economy.


This year, several large superyachts were on display during the four-day show. Most notably, Damen Yachting introduced the 55m Amels 180, Gene Machine, and the 55m Yacht Support YS 5009, Gene Chaser, for the first time as a full fleet. Owned by accomplished DNA sequencing scientist Dr. Jonathon Rothberg, the science duo were showcased stern to stern at the exclusive Island Gardens location. Lurssen’s 61m Marguerite and Benettis’ 44.2m Il’ Barbetta were also on display, along with Oceanfast’s 49.9m Thunder, which is currently on sale from the IYC. With even more lined up for 2023, DBMIBS is definitely the one to keep on your calendar for next year, already scheduled for February 15-19, 2023.


Palm Beach International Boat Show – March 24 – 27


2022 welcomes the 40th anniversary of the second Florida-based boat show, Palm Beach International Boat Show (PBIBS). According to the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County, PBIBS 2019 saw over 53,000 attendees. With the 2020 show taking place virtually and the 2021 show only allowing a limited number of guests, this year should be back, and better than ever.


Showcasing over $1.2 billion worth of yachts and accessories each year, PBIBS’ Safe Harbor Rybovich is to unveil yachts up to 100 meters in length. Not only a haven for superyacht enthusiasts and potential customers, the show also showcases a range of sailboats, fishing boats and lavish pleasure craft. The superyachts on display this year have not yet been unveiled, expect to be seduced when the time comes.


Newport International Boat Show – September 15-18


Another of America’s great boat shows is held on the East Coast in the state of Rhode Island, New England. The Newport International Boat Show (NIBS) welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, spanning an impressive 13 acres of docks and marina. Featuring some of the newest sailboats and powerboats on the US market, NIBS is a must visit for yachting enthusiasts.


As a superyacht hotspot, Newport has become the hub of the East for American yachting enthusiasts, with its array of marinas and harbors offering a host of yachting facilities and services, as well as plenty of entertainment at the Waterside. Nestled between New York and Boston, it’s the perfect summer spot for yachting, and the NIBS has undoubtedly grown year on year to reflect that. Yet to announce their yachting show line-up, Newport International Boat Show will take place September 15-18, 2022.


Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show – October 26-30


Following record success for Florida’s economy last year, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) will take place this fall October 26-30, 2022. With a contribution of $1.79 billion to the Florida economy in 2021, the Fort Lauderdale show is rightly recognized as the largest on-water boat show in the world.


Covering 90 acres, including 300 million square feet of exhibit space, FLIBS has become one of the premier international yacht shows. In 2019, the five-day show welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors and more than 1,300 boats on display, and is only expected to grow in 2022. With FLIBS 2021 taking place only a few months ago, more details on the show this year are still available. to be announced, but we’re sure the line-up will be impressive.


After a turbulent few years, this year’s American Yachting Calendar is once again hosting some of the biggest yacht shows in the world, and we can’t wait to see what they bring to 2022.
