Even if the ship is only a concept, the designer still offers some ideas to future owners as to the types of activities and spaces that can be developed inside. One feature to help you show the world your financial situation is a helicopter runway and hangar. That alone seems enough to send a message, but it’s just the start.
In addition to the fact that any concept is ultimately in the hands of its future owner, the interior of the Acionna can also be equipped with a full-size squash court, a 20-meter (66-foot) indoor pool, spa services and even a garage, no, not only a tender garage, but also a supercar garage. Several other pools are also interconnected and meet on several bridges. Owners can even go so far as to include waterfalls. Don’t bother looking for pictures of an interior because the designer didn’t include any; it is ultimately in the hands of a potential owner.
Another detail that the design studio took into consideration is the propulsion system. Unlike traditional superyachts, the Acionna is created around hydrogen propulsion. With that in mind, Waugh plans to create a “zero impact†ship as it is intended to sail the seven seas.
But, according to the designer’s website, there is a problem with ships of this size and the ability to use hydrogen, the lack of a stable supply chain. It appears that too few companies offer a large enough hydrogen supply to operate a 574-foot vessel around the world. Solution? Find a way to power the Acionna with its own hydrogen-capturing transmission.
However, there is one thing I would like to add to the design of this vessel. Due to the long decks and superstructure, I think this mega-yacht could very easily use solar power to complement any other propulsion system that can be found on board.
At the moment, the price of something like this has not been mentioned. Honestly, there’s really no way to estimate how much this ship would cost because people have very extravagant tastes.
